ADULT COMMUNITY DANCE COMPANY.

Established in 2010, ILLUMÉ, NOCTURN’s adult community dance company, has given a wonderful array of varied performance opportunities and has gained a reputation for delivering high-quality dance performances.

With the supportive leadership of John Darvell, ILLUMÉ members test themselves and challenge each other to create and perform works of artistic excellence.

NOCTURN believes in the transformative power of adult dance and that all adults should be given the chance to express their creativity. We formed ILLUMÉ to fulfil this dream.

Nearly all members of the group have daytime jobs, mostly unrelated to the Arts, and their creations are directly influenced by their own collective life experiences.

As a member of ILLUMÉ, you can draw upon your rich life experience to create demanding dance pieces. Creative talent is nurtured and channelled.

You will find rehearsals challenging and rewarding, experience making solo dance material, partnering to create duets and building group pieces, bringing it all together as one harmonious dance performance.
